A quick field guide

From a check
to a better page.

A page-level check is a practical starting point when something looks wrong or you want to review a draft before release. This free on-page SEO checker reads the available HTML and shows the evidence behind each observation. You get a focused inspection of one page, with clear follow-up work.

  1. 01

    Choose the source

Enter a public page URL, or paste its HTML with the original address. Add a target phrase if useful.

  2. 02

    Read the evidence

Open each finding to see what was present, what needs a review and which data was unavailable.

  3. 03

    Make one useful correction

Export the report, update the page and run the same check again to compare the actual source.

01

What this on-page SEO check examines

The report looks for title elements, meta descriptions, a heading outline, declared canonicals and indexing directives. It also counts images without an alt attribute, reports basic JSON-LD syntax and identifies whether a mobile viewport tag is present. Each finding describes the available evidence, so you can decide whether it matches the purpose of your page.

A public URL check reads the HTML response and available X-Robots-Tag header. Pasted HTML has no live response headers, so the report keeps that distinction visible. It does not execute the page’s scripts. Text or links added after JavaScript runs may therefore be absent even when you can see them in your browser.

02

Use the outline to review the page’s story

Headings should help someone scan the page and find the answer they need. The outline lists H1 through H6 in source order, with empty headings and level jumps highlighted for review. A jump is a prompt to examine the structure; it does not establish a Google penalty. Likewise, several H1 elements call for a contextual check rather than an automatic failure.

The word count comes from a main or article element when one is available, with common non-content elements removed. Otherwise the body is used. It is a whitespace-based count, not an evaluation of content quality. A short booking page and an explanatory guide have different jobs, and this tool does not impose a minimum number of words.

Use the Content & On-Page SEO learning path when the issue is deciding what the page should explain. A technical inventory can reveal missing elements, but a writer still needs to assess relevance, accuracy and usefulness.

03

Read metadata and indexing signals in context

A title should describe the specific page. A meta description can summarize the useful information a visitor will find. Google may choose other text for either search presentation element. If the saved tags are present but the message feels vague, work on the wording rather than adding keywords until a counter changes color.

The optional target-phrase check normalizes whitespace and compatibility forms, then counts literal, case-insensitive phrase occurrences in the title, description, H1, all headings and extracted main text. Individual term counts are shown separately. It does not stem words, recognize synonyms or understand intent. Heading text can also be part of the main-text count, so these figures are not additive totals. More occurrences are not automatically better.

An explicit noindex directive deserves attention if the page is meant for search. A declared canonical needs review if it points somewhere unexpected. This tool reports both, but does not prove indexing or verify that a canonical destination is accepted. Missing JSON-LD is not a universal error: choose markup only when it accurately describes the page. For organization or page details, the Schema Markup Generator provides guided templates.

04

What to do after the report

Start with unintended access and indexing restrictions, then inspect page identity and the most confusing content. Save an export before editing so you know what changed. Once updated, rerun the same source and open the page on a phone. Use Search Console for verified Google indexing information and a full-site crawl for duplicate titles, incoming links or orphan-page questions. Those require evidence beyond this one-page check.

Worth knowing

Your questions,
answered.

Is this a complete website SEO audit?+

No. It inspects one fetched or pasted HTML document. It does not crawl the site, measure backlinks or rankings, run Core Web Vitals tests or verify Google’s index.

Why is the result different from what I see on the page?+

The URL mode reads server-returned HTML without running JavaScript. Personalization, login state, bot protection and browser scripts can change what a person sees. Paste the relevant source when automatic access is restricted.

Does an observed finding mean the page is optimized?+

It means the named element was observed in the available source. It does not establish quality, eligibility for indexing or ranking performance. Open the finding to read its scope and next step.

What happens to the data I enter?+

A URL is sent to the tool server for retrieval. Analysis runs in your browser, and the application does not save a report history. Pasted HTML is processed locally. Technical hosting logs may still record request metadata.
